And in other breaking news..... a bear takes a sh!t in the woods, and a mice tries a piece of cheese and gives it the thumbs up.
Although I feel compelled to point out the obvious against "John the SNT Sergeant":
"John’s beat would once have received 24-hour police cover but the local station was closed two years ago on ‘efficiency’ grounds. At night, when the Safer Neighbourhood Team is off-duty, the only policing is provided by mobile response teams from the other side of the borough."
With due respect for the work that SNT's actually do, what a load of crap! The only "policing" in its most recognisable format, and that which the public want and expect, has only ever been provided by 24-hour mobile response teams from one station somewhere in any given borough.

I see it as an opportunity to do some more courses on the back of sports day. Carry on!

There's supposed to be police on the streets? They must have been in hiding all these years I've lived here then...

Apparently the Mighty Met have run out of uniforms, batons and CS for all these specials we've recruited, and all they have is trousers...... Seriously.

They've run the uniforms down so that they could issue that new shite, except they can't seem to organise themselves to get it out of the store. Stores are storing, not issuing.

While we are on about uniforms......where's my bloody fleece!
Also my CS end date is July 2012, does that mean it goes off (i.e not work as opposed to whoooosh) and won't now get replaced because they (the MET) have run out.

LOADS of uniform and kit issues right now. No CS, no batons, no "old" uniform even though we haven't yet got the "new" uniform. Basically..... The eyes of the world are on us, and we will look like shite. Again. I really fear for the people of London over the next few months. The emergency services just aren't ready, and we won't cope.

The rollout of the new uniform is shockingly disorganised, but when you hand out voluntary redundancy to staff in uniform services you can't expect, the same level of service (I'm being diplomatic here my real thoughts on the processes and people involved would probably get me disciplined).

I'm more concerned that Sports Day has caused such a shortage of Portaloos that Glastonbury had to be cancelled. And the weather is perfect for it this week as well!!

Now that's just not fair. I managed to find one (just one) member of staff there who can actually tell her arse from her elbow. Sadly, she's the only one. The rest of them seem to enjoy being particularly awkward.

I've been waiting ages for my new (old) short sleeved shirts. Apparently I get my new (new) shirts on the 21st, and that's why there is a delay...... All joking aside, we don't have enough uniform or kit for the officers we have, and we are recruiting more!
It's farcical. On the plus side, every time I get put on "Olympic aid" I'm going to ensure I have PLENTY of MPS provided, non sponsored water, just to annoy them........!
