potential rejoiner

I previously served in Humberside Police for 2 and a half years, then resigned to go and work in Iraq where ive been for the past 4 years.I still live in the uk and pay council tax and return every 8 weeks for 4 weeks off.I made enquiries with Humberside police about rejoining , but was informed by them that i would be unable to rejoin as i dont live in the uk.im thinking about applying to another force have looked at GMP and WMP, and wondered if anyone has any info with regards to rejoiner procedure.

Whilst I don't work for GMP or WMP, I believe our recruitment process states that you must be resident in the UK for a set period - I believe it is 3 years. I assume most forces have a similar policy..??

GMP require you to have been resident in the UK for the previous 3 years prior to applying.

You situation sounds slightly different to the usual traveling that tends to cause people a delay in their application so it may be worth calling and explaining your situation to see where you stand.

What work were you doing in Iraq, was it government related as that may help.
