If you have been around the Forums for a while you will be aware of my 'Acronym Warnings'.

These are little warnings I issue to people who use Acronyms without explaining what they mean.

What is an Acronym?
A word formed from the initial letters of a name for instance "CID" for "Criminal Investigation Department".

Acronym warnings can now be a thing of the past.
There is a new feature of this Forum which will automatically explain what an Acronym stands for. In order to do this they must be added to our Acronym Database. Once added, all known Acronyms will have little dots under them, holding your mouse pointer over such a word will reveal what is stands for.

If you use a new Acronym which isn't in our database, please explain what it means in your post in brackets and advise one the of the Site Admins (currently Chief, Storm and Chiprafp) who will add it to the database for you.

Examples of Acronyms:
SOCO / BTP / CBRN / GMP / NAFIS
