GMP Shift Pattern

Johno:
Hi,

I'm thinking of applying to Greater Manchester Police and I'm unable to find any information regarding their shift patterns. Does anyone here know the GMP shift patterns please?

Thanks in advance.  :)

Hi,

GMP shift patterns vary form division to division and also depend on what type of work you do (e.g. response or neighbourhood policing etc.) so there's no answer really.

If you end up on NPT you'll work more daytime hours than people on response. Response officers work all shifts, but NPT don't do early mornings.

After your initial 2 years you can apply to specialise in different roles and again your shifts will vary depending on what you do.

So while I can't give you a direct answer, I would say that you should be prepared to work all hours.

NPT?

SgtAngel:
Neighbourhood Policing Team

Condie:
Interesting that those two are separated out.
